Four — 469 Yards, Par 4

A slight dogleg to the left that is partially blind, so it will be important to hit the fairway. The green is guarded by two deep bunkers on the front corners. Compared with others, this green is relatively flat and should allow good birdie chances.

Major Moment

Jackie Pung of Hawaii made bogey, but her playing partner keeping her card wrote down a par. Even though Pung signed for the correct total score (72) that would have won the 1957 U.S. Women's Open, she was disqualified for signing an incorrect card and the title went to Betsy Rawls. Winged Foot members were so distraught they passed the hat and collected $3,000 for Pung, which was more than Rawls earned ($1,200) for first place.
