Mackie: Gary Player used to aim down the parallel 15th fairway on the right, but that route has been closed by trees, gorse and heavy rough. An unseen drainage ditch lurks in the left rough and many Open contenders will keep the driver in the bag and aim for fairway position, leaving a short iron shot to a green that is bunkered at the front.
