Minor tweaks to Augusta National await field for 2008

Augusta National Golf Club chairman Billy Payne says he and the membership are "overall very pleased" with the way course played in 2007, but that didn't stop them from making a few changes to the famed layout for 2008.

Nicklaus to play again at Augusta -- in Par 3 Tournament

If Jack Nicklaus truly believes in equal opportunity, he'll be playing in the Par 3 Tournament that preceeds the Masters for the next 19 or so years. The Golden Bear, you see, has 19 grandchildren with another on the way soon.

    Beginning in 2008, young golf fans will be able to attend the Masters for free, and golf fans everywhere will for the first time see the entertaining Par 3 Contest on television, thanks to two new initiatives announced by Augusta National Chairman Billy Payne.

    Masters changes its regulations on who gets to play

    Augusta National Chairman Billy Payne unveiled last April a new set of criteria for getting into the Masters that will make him very popular among the players. The changes also will add meaning to all events throughout the PGA TOUR schedule.
