Rose and Harrington are upbeat about their finishes
Justin Rose tied for fifth Sunday while Padraig Harrington tied for seventh, the best results among the European contingent. Rose was surprised at how calm he felt Sunday, and both players believe they have the game to win someday.
AUGUSTA, Ga. (PA) -- Justin Rose was adamant on Sunday night that it was not nerves or pressure that got the better of him at the Masters.
One behind eventual champion Zach Johnson with two holes to play, Rose double-bogeyed the 17th to finish tied for fifth and so extended Europe's barren spell in the majors to 30.
"I haven't driven the ball well on that hole all week," said the 26-year-old Englishman, who finished at 4-over 292 after a final-round 73. "I really surprised myself with how calm I felt and how in control of my emotions I felt.
"I just believed all day that I was going to do something special and I fancied myself down the stretch, but the 17th cost me this week," he added.
He parred it in the first and third rounds, but bogeyed it on Friday.
"I really learned a lot about myself today and I really feel I have what it takes to go on and win majors from here," he said.
Padraig Harrington, who played with Rose still had a chance himself until he went in the water on the 15th for the third day out of four. He finished tied for seventh at 5-over 283 after a final-round 73 of his own.

"I will walk away from this knowing I have a game capable of winning the Masters, so that is a positive note for me," said Harrington, last season's European No. 1, who is still to record anything better than a fifth place finish in any major.
"At the 15th, I hit a great second shot straight down the pin," he explained of his bogey there. "It looked like it could have been anywhere, and as it turned out it was in the water.
"But that's the Masters for you," he added. "And hopefully sometime that will go in my favor."
