Final Round Hole No.: 18 Yardage: 465 Par: 4 Stroke Average: 4.090 Rank:10 Key Fact:
Phil Mickelson might not be able to jump very high, but he
sure can putt. With his first major title in the balance Sunday
afternoon at Augusta National, Lefty calmly canned an 18-foot putt for
birdie -- one of just five recorded on the final hole -- to beat Ernie
Els by a stroke and win the Masters. After the putt curled around the
left edge and fell into the cup, Mickelson jumped for joy, though some
might consider that a slight on those who can actually jump. "I was
watching myself look like an idiot on the 18th green after I made the
putt and really didn't care," he said after watching replays of his
celebration. "It was just so much fun."
